Blue Ridge Bank and Trust Co. is pleased to welcome Matthew Brown as Vice President of Commercial Lending. Matt has been in banking for 13 years and has experience in mergers and acquisitions, financial underwriting, and real estate. He will work with businesses and investors incorporating a relationship approach to help them with their commercial loans and real estate needs.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a minor in finance and economics from University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Bloch School of Business and a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University. He has served seven years in the military and was recently promoted to Captain and selected for command in one of the companies of President Harry S. Truman’s battalion in the Missouri Army National Guard. A native of Independence, he is an Eagle Scout and served several summers on the Bartle Camp staff.
Matt is involved with the Independence Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts of America, UMKC Alumni Association and UMKC Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation mentoring program, American Legion, and Missouri National Guard Association. He is active in his church as a lay minister and resides in Independence with his family.
