DESCRIPTION:Procurement officers from public entities tell the secrets of selling to them. \n\nJoin the Chamber at Four Points by Sheraton on Friday\, August 8th\, from 11:30am to 3:30pm to learn how to become a qualified or approved vendor capable of selling goods and/or services to local\, state and federal public entities.\n\nThe event will begin with a luncheon from the Boulevard Grill with time for networking with fellow business people. Around 12:00pm our speaker\, Michelle "Shelly" Cunningham\, Director of the Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Center (MO PTAC) at the University of Missouri Kansas City. Cunningham will present on the procurement procedures used by public entities to provide the businesses a solid foundation of understanding of what is possible.\n\nAfter the luncheon presentation\, business owners and managers will have an opportunity to meet in small groups with many of the procurement officers from the public entities represented. The intent of these appointments is to provide business owners insight and direction into the specific steps they should take to be qualified to do business with the different public organizations. \n\nAppointments can be made prior to Doing Business With Government Day beginning on August 1\, 2014. Conversations will be scheduled in 30 minute intervals so each public employer will have the opportunity to meet with as many business owners as possible. Appointments will be made on a first-come-first serve basis.
