It is one of the three largest markets in the Kansas City Metro area and serves as a way to promote local business and create access to healthy foods for residents.\n\nEveryone is invited to check out the activities taking place at the market\, located in the N.W. corner of W. Walnut St. and S. Liberty St.\, during the free event from 9 a.m. 11 a.m. on Saturday\, August 13.\n\n \n\nThe farmers' market will open at 6 a.m. with the free activities beginning at 9 a.m. There will be a free food demo by a local dietitian\, fun photo opportunities\, the Royals Moose Mobile\, an opportunity to meet pioneering people (9:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m.)\, market tours\, and music. Additionally\, beginning at 9 a.m.\, the first 100 people to stop by the Health Department table will receive $5 vouchers to be used at the farmers' market that day.
