After a break during covid, the annual Community Exchange trip is back on and headed to West Des Moines, Iowa on April 13th and 14th.

11:15 am Welcome by Mayor Trimble and Chamber CEO and President, Katherine Herrington
11:30 am Working lunch in the Council Chambers
11:45 am Presentation of an overview of the City and the City-School Campus
12:00 pm Presentation by Director of Engineering Services, Brian Hemesath, on the conduit project
12:15 pm Presentation on the ACP & PCs4People program
12:30 pm Presentation by WDMCSD Supt. Matt Adams, on the schools workforce training programs
12:45 pm Presentation by Waukee CSD, Michelle Hill, on the APEX program
1:00 pm Presentation by Parks and Rec. Director, Ryan Penning, on the Five-Waters Project
1:15 pm Tour by Ryan Penning of the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater and Art on the Campus Exhibits
1:45 pm Board bus for driving tour of West Des Moines including

Charter bus will depart Independence on Thursday, April 13th at 8:00 am and return on Friday, April 14th at approximately 4:30 pm
