CANCELLED: Independence City Council Candidate Forum

PLEASE BE ADVISED:  
We have been notified by the Mid Continent Public Library that the community room at the Midwest Genealogy Center has cancelled all events in their space until further notice.  We feel like the candidate forum is an important event but the recent events surrounding the Covid-19 virus, and the request by public agencies to limit exposure to the population, a decision has been made to hold this forum but do it as an “online only” presentation via the Facebook pages of the Examiner, Independence Chamber of Commerce and any other organization who so desires to share the presentation to their pages.

We still plan to operate under the previous guidelines but instead of taking questions from an audience that is present, questions can be submitted online with our moderator choosing which questions to present to all the candidates.  We will do the live event from the Board room of the Independence Chamber of Commerce located at 210 W. Truman Road (WILL NOT BE OPEN TO PUBLIC).  We will start the online presentation promptly at 7:00 pm.
