Cargo for Kids 8th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

In 2010 we created Cargo for Kids, a nonprofit initiative established to provide school supplies and basic hygiene items to homeless children in the Independence School District.

•Since its inception, Cargo Largo and generous community volunteers and donations have provided students well over $560,000 worth of supplies. Each donated backpack contains essential school supplies and personal hygiene items that are age and grade appropriate.
•C4K served over 7,900 students since 2010. We estimate the need to be 900 for 2019.
•Every July, Cargo for Kids hosts a community-wide volunteer event to stuff backpacks with grade-specific supplies. The backpacks are then given to the School District to confidentially distribute to students throughout the year.
•Funds raised go directly to support Cargo for Kids initiatives (no administrative or overhead costs).
•Anyone can support C4K through a donation of time, supplies or money.  A typical high school backpack now costs in excess of $100.
