Faith & Blue 2024 - Raising Awareness and Generating Compassion - A Critical Conversation
This Year's FAITH & BLUE, event "Raising Awareness - Generating Compassion" is OCT 10! 8:30AM -11:30AM (COFFEE begins at 8AM).
As a faith-based housing organization, Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity strives to keep God at the Center of our ministry for those in Eastern Jackson County Missouri. Collaboration with our faith-based partners is a key to transforming lives. Our mission is to put God's love into action by bringing people together to build homes, community and hope. A critical need in our service area and the Independence Police Department has asked for the faith-based community's volunteer service and to come alongside them as your help is needed. IPD and Habitat are offering a half-day workshop to gain awareness and to understand the needs of these citizens that faith-based individuals, congregations, ministries, and organizations are uniquely positioned and called to serve. This event will include conversations with Truman Habitat, the Police (IPD), Comprehensive Mental Health Services, and representatives from CSL, local churches and congregations, and more.

Specifically we face two critical issues in our Eastern Jackson County Missouri area that desperately need our attention - rampant housing insecurity and a staggering mental health crisis among both our housed and houseless neighbors. As a team, God at Center at Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity and the Independence Police Department invite you to this critical conversation. Perhaps this workshop is a call to action that you have been praying for? RSVP to 816-839-5342.
